Workwear giant Dickies become title sponsor of the British Supersport Championship

Dickies will increase their presence in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in 2016 after the worldwide market leading workwear company agreed a new three-year associate level partnership with commercial rights holder MSV.

The increased involvement ahead of the new season which gets underway at Silverstone on April 8/9/10 will include title sponsorship of the vastly popular British Supersport Championship, the leading support series to MCE British Superbikes.

Dickies will also maintain their prominent trackside visibility, continuing to supply safety clothing to the Racesafe marshals and MCE BSB medical team who support every MCE British Superbike Championship event.

Maurice Morton, Dickies’ Sales & Marketing Director (Europe), commented: “We have been involved with the MCE British Superbike Championship since 2013, so we are thrilled to continue our series support as the new title sponsor of the British Supersport Championship, which offers a fantastic platform for the sport’s future stars to launch their careers.

“The new partnership will make the Dickies brand even more prominent throughout the 2016 series. Currently the famous clothing brand supplies the ‘Dickies Orange Army’ safety apparel for the Racesafe marshals and the medical team, as well as work wear for the media corps.”

MCE British Superbike Championship Series Director, Stuart Higgs, said: “I’m delighted that Dickies will return with an increased involvement for this season. With their association and practical input over the past few years they have already created a very strong identity with the series and I’m sure that this new partnership will raise this even further.”

Dickies will also remain involved with the popular UK Worker of the Year competition, which is open to everyone and anyone who works in the UK. The 2016 competition will have ASDA alongside Dickies as the associate sponsor and the prizes will be even better than the luxury holiday, a bike and a year’s free shopping at ASDA along with many other offers.

More information about Dickies’ sponsorship for the 2016 British Supersport Championship and UK Worker of the Year 2016 will be announced soon.

The Qatari rider, supported by QMMF (Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation), will make his debut in the World Superbike Championship riding a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.

His career, starting with the World Endurance Championship in 2010 and leading to his participation in the entire CEV SBK 2016 championship riding a KAWASAKI, has made the thirty year old rider a veteran of the category, ready to fight in the most challenging series:
“I am very excited about this new adventure – commented Saeed Al Sulaiti – I’m thankful to Team Pedercini Racing and QMMF who are providing a unique opportunity to race with the top riders and to get to learn a professional working method in a highly cohesive team.
My goal is to take this opportunity to boost my sporting ambitions and achieve better and better results throughout the season. I will certainly do my best to make 2016 an unforgettable year, the first of many more to follow!”.
Meanwhile, for Team Pedercini Racing, the World SBK 2016 season will start as a highly competitive challenge, as Lucio Pedercini says:
“Al Sulaiti comes from a country that has shown great interest in our sport: placing our trust in him we want to open the doors and to promote the popularity of motorsport in a region with high potential, but still few talented riders.
Together with Saeed, we will show that our cultures have in common the same commitment to achieve important results, we will improve together and Saeed will be able to show his best. His bike is ready, and I can’t wait to see him in action”.
Saeed Al Sulaiti will make his debut with riding the number 11 Ninja ZX-10R machine on 26 January in Jerez de La Frontera (Spain) at a pre-season test organised by Kawasaki.

Gearlink Kawasaki – NW200 – Seeley and Wilson

Seeley and Wilson to race the NW200
with Gearlink Kawasaki
Gearlink Kawasaki is very pleased to announce their plans for the Vauxhall International North West 200 in 2016. They have signed multi NW200 winner Alastair Seeley and long-term Gearlink Kawasaki rider Ben Wilson.
The team is fielding two very strong riders at the Irish event which is being held between the 8th – 14th May. They are extremely excited about running Alastair and Ben together again on the Kawasaki Supersport bikes, the pair will be re-united after being team-mates in 2013.
Alastair has won an incredible 15 North West 200 races and will be hoping to extend that tally in 2016. Ben will make his second appearance at the fantastic Northern Irish road racing circuit.
Alastair Seeley – “I’m very happy to be riding for the family team of Michael and Norma at Gearlink Kawasaki again, plus back working with my former crew chief Arron Phillips.
I hope we can start where we left off at the NW200 in 2013, where I won with them. As the bike model hasn’t changed for a number of years, hopefully I can just dial in my previous settings and be good to go from the start.
Anything I’ve asked for the event this year, Michael has agreed and assures me that we will have strong motors, which I’m buzzing about.”
Ben Wilson – “I am looking forward to making my return to the NW200 this year, last year was a learning year and I really enjoyed the experience that I got there. I know the Gearlink Kawasaki team so well and I know that we can achieve some really strong results there.
I secured an 11th and 9th last year and will be pushing hard to improve on those results this year and thank Michael and Norma for the opportunity.”
Team owner Michael de Bidaph – “It is really exciting for the team to have secured such a strong line-up to compete at the NW200 this year with Alastair and Ben.
Alastair rode our Supersport bike there in 2013 but due to unfortunate circumstances, Norma and I were unable to attend, so it will be great to be fully involved this year. It was Ben’s first time there last year so now that he knows his way around I am sure he will also be very competitive.
Ben and Alastair both had a successful season with us in the British Supersport Championship in 2013 and it would be great to get some strong results at the North West 200.”

Gearlink Kawasaki – 2016 Superbike Rider – Vittorio Iannuzzo

Italian Iannuzzo set for Superbike return with Gearlink Kawasaki
Vittorio Iannuzzo will return to the MCE British Superbike Championship grid this season for his first full campaign in the series. The Italian joins the Supersport race-winning team, Gearlink Kawasaki and will become the ninth different nationality to be represented in the 2016 line-up.
The experienced former European Superstock champion made his debut in the British Championship last season with several appearances, but the 33-year-old Italian is now relishing the opportunity to work with the hard-working team.
Vittorio Iannuzzo – “I am proud to be part of this team because they are already one of the top teams in the Supersport Championship and when I met with them I had the feeling that they also want to become the same in the Superbike class, so together we can have goals for the season ahead. The team has some really cool people and we have a good test schedule planned so for sure it should be an easier start to the season this time for me compared to last year. I last rode a Kawasaki in 2008, but it was a long time ago, so I don’t think it will be possible to compare but I feel I have more experience now – we will be ready for the first round.
We must work hard together this year to get results but I am looking forward to that this year. We know that BSB is one of the strongest championships in the world, with so many top riders and teams, but we can progress in every race and we will be trying hard to make steps forward at every round.”
Team owner Michael de Bidaph – “I am really happy to have signed Vittorio for the 2016 British Superbike season. I was in talks with him last year but at that time he had other commitments so I am now delighted to be working together this season.
It will certainly be a challenge for both of us especially as Vittorio is not that familiar with the British circuits but I am confident that, with the passion we both have to succeed, we will be able to have a great season.”
