Hickman completes JG Speedfit Kawasaki line-up for 2016 MCE BSB
Peter Hickman will get his best chance of fighting for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship title in 2016 as the Louth-based rider completes the line-up at JG Speedfit Kawasaki alongside James Ellison on the all-new ZX-10R Ninja.
Hickman had one of his strongest championship campaigns to date in 2015, claiming three podium finishes, the most he has achieved in a season, to equal his best position of ninth place in the overall standings.
Hickman returns to the team for 2016 as they kick off their pre-season preparations today (Monday) with the first test of the new Kawasaki alongside the World Superbike team at Aragon in Spain.
Hickman said: “I am really excited to be joining the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team, especially as we have the new ZX-10R to be let loose on and it looks like a real weapon! I am really looking forward to this new challenge and to be part of the official Kawasaki team in BSB for me is like a dream come true – I can’t wait to get started. For sure this is the biggest opportunity I have ever had in the championship and I am ready to do the best job I possibly can for myself and the team.
“We have the first test today (Monday) and that should give us a good starting point. The new Kawasaki looks like an incredible bike and we just need to work through the early stages of the development so that we are ready to come out fighting during next season. It can’t come soon enough!”
