Joe Collier Brands Hatch GP www.facebook.com/JoeCollierRacing
Joe Collier, racing on the Haribo Starmix Triumph, had another very strong weekend at round six of the Motorpoint British Supersport Evo Championship at Brands Hatch Circuit securing another two fantastic wins extending his Championship lead to a huge 127 points.
Joe has been one of the most consistent riders on the grid this season finishing every race on the Evo podium with eight wins so far and has continued to be a dominant force in the Evo Championship. He was top Evo rider throughout the weekend in all the sessions and was fastest Evo rider in qualifying placing him in 11th place on the grid for the Sprint race on Saturday.
Joe got a good start and was the leading Evo rider after the opening lap, a small mistake on lap two cost him a couple of places and he dropped to third. He soon got himself back into contention for a race win and was hunting leader Marshall Neill down. Marshall made a mistake and crashed out promoting Joe to race leader and he took another great win and a ninth overall in the race.
In race two he started from 14th place on the grid. He got a steady start and was third Evo rider after lap one of the 18-lap race. He passed Marshall Neill for second place on lap 10 and was soon hunting down Bjorn Estment for another race win, on lap 16 he took the lead and went on to take his eighth win of the season.
Joe Collier – “I’m really pleased that I have managed to take another two race wins this weekend and remains consistent within the main Championship. The team once again provided me with a great bike this weekend and we made several changes on Friday but come the races everything felt great.
I’m an Evo rider but I am also managing to sit in seventh place in the main Championship standings and just hope I can continue with my results for the rest of the season and keep aiming for higher results in the overall Championship race. I’d like to thank my team and all my sponsors for their help and support this year and roll on Thruxton.”
