Team Traction Control return to Donington Park for the fourth round of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship this weekend (22-24 May) and Joe Francis arrives in Leicestershire ready to fight to secure his first victory of the season.
Francis had a strong performance at the opening round of the season on the 2.48-mile circuit, scoring a third place finish despite suffering from niggling arm pump. However after undergoing surgery on his arm last month, the Chester contender feels in a strong position to come out fighting for the win this weekend.
TTC’s Andy Reid will also be on track this weekend after getting a call up from the CORE” Motorsport Thailand team, to ride in place of Ratthapark Wilairot for the UK round of the Supersport World Championship.
Francis said: “I am really looking forward to this weekend, especially as we know from the first round that we have the pace to be on the podium. We know we have a good set-up and that the Yamaha works well around Donington Park. We had a podium finish despite the arm pump problem I had at the start of the season so now I am back to full strength I can’t wait to get started.”
Reid said: “This weekend is obviously a new experience with a new team and crew so I need to keep a cool head. My track knowledge is going to get me to a decent point and then we just need to keep progressing from there during the weekend. I want to get a solid result but at the same time I always want to be fighting for the win, that’s just me. I feel we can be in a strong position as long as I feel comfortable. I am ready for the new experience.” |
