The Cross Report – Episode 3

Courtesy of USA Cycling

How much CX is too much? The world may never know. In this week’s episode we cover the action from 29th Annual Verge Northampton Classic and the Pan-American Cyclocross Championships which was part of the Silver Goose Cyclocross event in Canada. Tobin Ortenblad and Caroline Nolan would both take the double wins at the Northampton, Mass. event. At PanAm Champs, Maghalie Rochette and Kerry Werner would claim the Elite titles, with Gage Hecht and Ruby West winning the U23 events, and Andrew Strohmeyer, and Madigan Munroe coming out on top in the Juniors events. USA Cycling’s The Cross Report is a weekly show that looks at the top end of the U.S. Cyclocross scene, from the Professional Cyclocross Calendar (Pro CX) to how American athletes are doing internationally. Bill Schieken of CX HAIRS is our host and provides in-depth commentary on all things CX.

You’ll find no fancy audio trickery or upbeat music in this edit, because this is the Sound of Speed with Laurie Greenland. Nothing but pure earthy tones and the shred of tyres on soil to lull you into a full state of stoke. Winning his first UCI World Cup in Val Di Sole this year, Laurie Greenland has been on fire all season. In this video, Greenland takes some time-out from racing to lap it up at Queenstown Bike Park in New Zealand.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN! – Marine Cabirou x Champery

If there is one thing we’ve learned from Marine Cabirou this season is that she is fast. You name the track, and she’ll be close to the top step. To have speed is one thing, but to be able to manage it to perfection is another. On the Champéry World Cup track, perfection is a millisecond away from disaster. Watch as Marine pilots her Gambler down the track with speed, accuracy and confidence. Many thanks to our brake and drivetrain partner TRP: https://trpcycling.com/
