Leg 2 was quite the experience. We started with winning the In-Port Race but ended a little unsatisfied with our 4th place in Cape Town.

Meet the guys who joined us in Alicante and Lisbon for the first two stopovers of the Volvo Ocean Race. As part of our partnership with Oakcliff Sailing Center, Vestas 11th Hour Racing will take on two young sailors as volunteers at each stopover to support on-land operations.

While in Austria recently for his honeymoon, Chicago Cubs superstar Kris Bryant visited the motorsports mecca known as the Red Bull Ring. He took the wheel of a Nissan 370z on a slick 40-degree day and hit a top speed of 111 mph. He also went through drift training, getting the car around the curve as sideways as possible. To cap off the day, Bryant rode shotgun in the KTM X-Bow, an ultra-light sports car built for road and race use. In a race circuit simulation, the powerful vehicle reached 125 mph.
“My heart was beating a little fast, but super fun,” said Bryant. “I always wanted to get on the track and see how fast I can go.”
