Conditions: Small

HONOLUA BAY, Maui/Hawaii (Tuesday, December 1, 2015) – Small surf continues to trickle into Honolua Bay, prompting event organizers to call the Target Maui Pro off for the day. The world’s best are ready for more but will have to wait for the incoming swell to get competition back underway and crown a 2015 World Champion.

“We arrived early this morning and the bay is completely silent so we’ll have to go on a lay day today and come back tomorrow with hopes of a rising swell,” WSL Women’s Commissioner Jessi Miley-Dyer said. “We’re keeping our eye on the forecast and it’s still looking like great conditions are coming for deciding a World Champion. The anticipation is brutal but we know it will be well worth the wait once more.”

Lakey Peterson (USA) and Tatiana Weston-Webb (HAW) will battle for elimination in the opening heat of Round 4 when competition resumes.

Surfline, the official forecaster for the World Surf League (WSL), are calling for:

Smaller leftovers from the NNW prevail Tuesday. New, shadowed WNW/NW swell wrap builds in on Wednesday, with a possible continued build in surf size specifically for Honolua Bay into Thursday as reinforcements from the NNW fill in. Friday will ease in size. Breezy trades prevail through the week.

The Target Maui Pro webcast is LIVE on www.worldsurfleague.com and via the WSL app.

The world’s best surfing will also be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports in Australia, MCS Extreme in France, EDGE Sports in China, South Korea, Malaysia and other territories and on Globo TV in Brazil.
