Luke Mossey – Oulton Park
Quattro Plant TECcare Kawasaki
Luke Mossey and the Quattro Plant TECcare Kawasaki team had another great weekend at round nine of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park. The 22-year-old from Royston had three solid races and ended up gaining a sixth, fourth and 11th places respectively.
There were three British Superbike races at Oulton Park and so qualifying was scheduled fairly early on Saturday. Luke had another strong qualifying session and placed in sixth place for the opening race on Saturday afternoon. Luke struggled off the start and dropped to ninth after the opening lap but he soon re-grouped and worked his way back towards the front. By lap six he was fifth but was then passed by the charging Josh Brookes. He was then locked in a battle with Dan Linfoot and finished sixth after the 18 laps.
In race two he started from seventh place on the grid and he got a good start and was sixth after one lap. Luke looked very strong and confident throughout the race and was locked in a four bike battle for the final podium spot with Dan Linfoot, Danny Buchan and James Ellison. They continued to swap places throughout the 18-lap and Luke took a very good fourth place at the chequered flag.
For the final race of the day Luke lined up on the grid; in seventh place again and a steady start saw him drop a couple of places to ninth. Once again he started putting in strong lap times and was moving forward through the field. He got up to seventh place but in the closing laps of the race the tyre started to loose grip rapidly and Luke dropped back to 11th.
Luke Mossey – “It was another good weekend for us at Oulton Park and I feel that we achieved some really strong results over the weekend. I had the pace and we were lucky to find a good set-up early on in the weekend from the data we had from the first round here in May.
The Quattro Plant Teccare Kawasaki team once again worked so hard for me here at Oulton and we really made some good progress throughout the weekend. It was a bit disappointing in the last race to have a tyre issue but I nursed her home and still managed to secure a few points. I can’t wait for Silverstone and Assen and hope to have a good solid end to my first British Superbike season.
Thanks to my team, Teccare and all my personal sponsors for their support.”
