The Italian team manager also provided some brief details of the team’s negotiations to finalise their second rider, alongside the incoming German MotoGP™ rider Stefan Bradl who will join them for 2015.

Forward Racing have used Yamaha engines throughout 2014 but have experimented with a Yamaha chassis and their own chassis.

Next year they will also continue with Yamaha engines and chassis, with development of their own chassis ongoing, though Cuzari is still to confirm processes 100%.

He stated, “Fortunately we can continue with the Yamaha chassis. But we’ll also continue to develop our own chassis. We will have a new chassis from Yamaha but I honestly can’t say if it will be 2014 or 2015 as I don’t know. The question is still open. Yamaha is giving us a really good package so we can continue to try and be at the front. It will be an improvement next year.”

“Of course we have a lot of respect for the Yamaha chassis, it’s impossible to improve on them. We think we can develop our chassis so we will make some tests to understand what we can do.”

Regarding who will ride for the team next year alongside Bradl, Cuzari replied, “The second rider is not easy. We’d like to give a chance to (Alex) De Angelis because we have a lot of Italian sponsors. But we’re also looking at a French rider.”
